The earrings that look like they came from somewhere beautiful.
A smaller solid gold starfish sits at the ear. Beneath it, suspended on a short connector, a larger starfish with iridescent abalone shell inlaid across every arm. The abalone shifts between deep blue, teal, green and purple depending on the light — the kind of colour that photographs differently every time and looks even better in person.
This is the piece you wear on the last night of a holiday and then reach for every time you want that feeling again. It is a drop earring that earns its length. Every centimetre of it is considered.
Made from 304 stainless steel with 18K gold plating. Hypoallergenic. Built for warm weather, coastal living and long evenings wherever you happen to be.
- Double starfish design — solid gold upper stud, abalone-inlaid lower drop connected on a short link
- Natural abalone shell inlay across all five arms of the drop starfish — iridescent blue, teal, green and purple tones that shift in the light
- Beaded gold edging on both starfish pieces for detail and definition
- 6.1cm total drop length — substantial presence without being heavy at 10g per pair
- 304 stainless steel with 18K gold plating — hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant
For women who want jewellery that tells a story. These are not background earrings. They are the reason someone asks where you got them. Wear them with a linen dress, a holiday outfit or anything simple enough to let the earrings lead.

What is included
One pair of Abalone Starfish Drop Earrings, presented in a Sialen Rosad gift-ready box and pouch.
The abalone, up close
Abalone is a natural shell material harvested from sea snails found in coastal waters around the world. Its distinctive iridescence comes from the layered structure of the shell — light refracts differently through each microscopic layer, creating the shifting blue, teal, green and purple colours that make abalone one of the most visually striking natural materials in jewellery. Because it is natural, the exact colour distribution across each earring will vary slightly between pairs. No two are identical.
The shell is cut into petal-shaped sections and inlaid into each arm of the larger starfish, bordered by polished 18K gold edges and a beaded gold outer rim that gives the piece its structured, premium finish.
The design
The double starfish silhouette is both the design decision and the conversation starter. The upper piece — a smaller, fully gold solid starfish with the same beaded edge detail — sits at the lobe as a stud. The lower piece hangs freely on a short gold link, giving the earring movement without swing. The total drop of 6.1cm sits comfortably below the jawline, visible with most necklines and especially strong with open collars, off-shoulder styles and pulled-back hair.
Why Sialen Rosad
Sialen Rosad was born from a simple habit — picking up jewellery on every trip, keeping the pieces that felt like a memory long after the suitcase was unpacked. These earrings are exactly that kind of piece. Found somewhere coastal. Kept forever. Every piece in the collection is chosen with that same intention: something worth wearing, worth keeping, worth giving.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these suitable for sensitive ears?
Yes — the stud fitting and earring posts are 304 stainless steel, which is confirmed hypoallergenic by the supplier and has low reactivity. As with all metal jewellery, individual sensitivities can vary. If you have a confirmed metal allergy, check with your GP or dermatologist before wearing.
How long is the drop?
The total length from the top of the stud to the base of the lower starfish is 6.1cm. The lower starfish is 4.2cm wide. They sit below the jawline on most people and are particularly strong with pulled-back hair or open necklines.
Is the abalone real?
Yes. The inlay is natural abalone shell. Because it is a natural material, slight variations in colour and pattern between pairs are normal and expected.
Can I wear these on holiday or at the beach?
The stainless steel and gold plating are water-resistant for everyday use. We recommend avoiding prolonged soaking in salt water or chlorine to preserve the natural abalone inlay over time. A quick rinse in fresh water after swimming is good practice.
Is it gift-ready?
Every Sialen Rosad order arrives in a box and pouch — no extra wrapping needed.
What is the return policy?
For hygiene reasons, earrings can only be returned if faulty. Please check product details carefully before ordering.
How long does delivery take?
UK standard delivery is £3.95, or free on orders over £50. Estimated delivery 3–5 working days.

Care guide
Care guide
Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear. The 18K gold plated stainless steel components are tarnish-resistant and water-resistant for everyday use. The natural abalone shell inlay is delicate — avoid prolonged soaking in salt water or chlorine, and keep away from perfume and harsh chemicals to preserve the iridescent shell surface. A quick rinse in fresh water after beach or pool wear is recommended. Store separately to avoid scratching the abalone inlay.
Styling Tips
Styling Tips
These earrings lead — everything else follows. Wear with hair up or tucked back to show the full 6.1cm drop. Open necklines, off-shoulder tops, linen dresses and halter styles all work beautifully by giving the earring room to be seen. Keep other jewellery minimal — a fine gold chain or nothing at all. The abalone picks up blues and greens from your surroundings, making these particularly stunning in natural light, near water or at golden hour. They are the earring you put in last and notice the most.
